The Trip North

Here's the link for the pictures we took on the drive from Georgia to Alaska.  The site is still a work in progress so bear with me as I learn how to customize everything :)

A quick recap of our journey so far:
We departed Georgia on 8/17, spent about 3 days between Fairfield and Decorah and then continued West to Seattle.  Along the way we stopped in Rapid City and Missoula.  While in Missoula we were able to spend some time with Alex's cousin, Richie, who is currently living out in Montana.  We also had the chance to see Seattle and Bellingham, which is where we boarded the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry.  The ferry was an amazing opportunity to see a few small towns along the coast of Alaska while giving us (and by us I mean Alex) a break from driving.  My favorite port we stopped at was probably Petersburg, it's nickname is 'Little Norway,' which is why it felt like home!!  We landed in Haines, AK and continued on our 15 hours drive to Anchorage.  We FINALLY arrived at our friends, the Ostby's, on Tuesday! We're excited to be here and are looking forward to exploring our new city :)

We may go camping this weekend and/or to the Alaska State Fair so we should have more to share soon!
